[ sometime in the early evening, Clementine is hungry. and she can DO something about that! wild! not that she's great at cooking... not a lot to work with, where she's from.

[what is he doing? he's busy pouring some kind of oil in a frying pan that seems to smoke a little more than he means to, but it's fine. it doesn't smell burned, he's doing great! but it does mean that when clementine enters the kitchen he turns from the stove and greets her with a smile.]

[there's a small smile at that. thanks for the vote of confidence. when she answers though, he mulls on the words while he's busy with his cooking. it's a scary idea to think about if he's being honest, and he doesn't exactly have a good frame of reference for it. for the most part his friends have always worked well together when they were in large numbers, but it doesn't mean what she says isn't true.]

...most of the time it's just me, Donald and Goofy. But it's only because our friends are usually on different worlds trying to fix things there. [ that's what she's trying to believe. it's what she keeps telling AJ. but, well. she tells AJ a lot of things, and she doesn't always believe them. even if they rebuild, how long until a new group brings a new war to them? how long until the next person gets bit?
so she just nods, and tries to believe in the very vague concept of having a home. if nothing else, it's better than not having one.
