First we walked to a cabin... it turned out we were sent to help a boy who was being accused of murder. His name was Ryuunosuke, and he said he was a... defense attorney? He said his partner said he'd send some help from "the office" since he'd be late. We ended up meeting him later, and he was pretty... eccentric.
[ just accepts her fate to be bundled up for a bit. it's fine. ]
Yeah. We had to find the real killer, so we did. Well, Nagiko and I wanted to help, and Yennefer eventually agreed. [ mcburn was just there. ]
The victim was a squirrel trainer, and... they ended up arresting his friend and rival trainer who was there, even though it was an accident. He fell and was kicked by a horse. But... I guess we did find out the two of them were doing illegal things with those squirrels, so maybe he was arrested for that instead?
[he just. lifts an eyebrow. and it goes higher and higher the longer she talks while he hops in the truck to grab the blankie for her.]
So wait...Ryuunosuke wasn't guilty at all but the guy who was the real killer wasn't actually a killer but he was hurting the squirrels so he was committing a crime anyway?
So you uncovered something else while trying to help Ryuunosuke. It’s strange it was all an accident actually, but… looking for the truth got you answers.
Well, he did run away after his friend died and let Ryuunosuke take the blame. [ so maybe. that's why he was arrested. what's a law indeed ] But yes. We had to look for clues outside, where it happened, and then Ryuunosuke's partner, um... Herlock? I think that's what he said his name was. He showed up, and we had to correct what he thought happened.
[ there's a pause ]
He was really off track. But... the weirdest part is, when we corrected him, we all did a little... [ she twirls in place ] Like it was all part of a play, almost.
[his one braincell seems to be working hard here.]
