Do you think it has to do with the splintering nova? I doubt anyone here is that sick in the head, but I could believe it if there was some external force making them behave that way.
[ ... ]
Living knowing that you've done that as well...
[ izumo is full of trauma but this is next level. ]
What, like she had already infected whoever killed her and that's why they were messy about it? [...hm.] I don't know. I hadn't thought about that because we don't know what the splintering means. But it could be.
And there's that, too. How can someone live with themselves after this? Unless they don't remember...?
He knows because he asked his leader about it. Had that person not killed the person with the splintering nova, he wouldn't be much of a person now.
[ aka he'd be brain dead but... ]
Someone who is splintered curing themselves by killing another person... What, would it be like that saying the best way to get rid of a cold is to give it to another person? Kind of sounds stupid if you say it out loud, though.
[ though even if true. why must it be like that... ]
Hm...then why hasn't anyone else been infected the same way? Why was it just Claude?
[and he just gives her a Look.] I know it sounds stupid, but it's not like the rest of this isn't stupid, too. It's just a possibility, and until we can know for sure I think it's worth at least thinking about.
That I couldn't answer you. It's kind of the same question as why was it that I was first targeted when all of this started.
It's not as though I've made an impression on anyone. [ not by the first week??? at least?? ] I suppose so. Though, with all of the thinking, we should find a way to test these things.
[ admittedly what they'd test would involve hurting someone and that...is not the way to go. ]
Maybe we'll find that answer sooner than we think. [he shrugs along with that.] And I think you're underestimating just what kind of impression you might've made on people, Izumo. First impressions are totally real.
[...hm.] I agree with you that testing's a good idea. But I'm not sure how.
Then I haven't made a very good one on many people. [ and that's probably stuck with a lot of them, which is... wobbles hands? ] —something that I doubt happened to Claude. He seems to have made a near perfect one.
[ she knows where she ranks in all of this. ]
Kind of wish we had one of those simulation rooms that exist in this place so we could run a test or something.
I dunno. I have an easier time talking to you than to Claude half the time. [not that he thinks claude's a bad person, but there are reasons for it.]
We still run into the problem of knowing how to run the tests at all. But that would be a good start if we could do something like that. Maybe we'll get another room in the future.
If it happened nobody I've talked to has heard a thing about it. [...] I did figure out why it was happening though. People were being sent messages from somewhere and they had to make a choice. Sometimes they were words and sometimes they were names. From what I understand, the people who made those choices didn't know what they meant or what would happen.
The person who received the message that first week received three different words. Red rose, dictionary/thesaurus, and cool off. They picked dictionary/thesaurus, and then you and Claude were chosen. They weren't told what the words meant or what they'd do. And as far as I know the message was anonymous.

Or maybe the killer was infected and Yoshizawa was a causality. The leaders have said that splintering causes a sort of negative affect.
I believe Claude has said that the day where he lost all of his memory was the result of someone who has their nova splintered.

[he just. frowns.] Funny. Claude didn't exactly tell me what he thought caused it. Just that it happened. How can he be sure?

[ you. you sure? like maybe she can get it but at the same time??? ]
If nothing else, we can just keep trying stuff until something sticks. It'd be better than whatever we have now. Probably.

It's always worth the try. [but...] I didn't hear about anybody being affected this week the way you guys were. Did we skip somehow?
no subject
No one? [ oh. interesting. ] If we did skip, does it mean anything? We never did quite figure out why it happens in the first place, right?
[ wooloos about who and what happened to izumo the first week. ]

What does that mean exactly? Words, names? Can you give me an example? Is it like some sort of random phrase or such?
