...okay. [he has no idea what to do with this information suddenly.] And the reason they didn't speak up when it looked like we were going to vote for Kano is...?
[...he's angry because it means someone innocent is walking free, but at the same time the way it's said is from a place of someone who's trying to understand the motivations and the person.]
You don't know that. (If they spoke up or not.) Everyone here has their secrets and not everyone is in a position to share them.
Unfortunately, this means someone else is going to have to pay the price for what happened. Fortunately for us, this is another source we didn't have before.
They know things that we don't and I suspect they'll continue to learn more.
[he knows better than to argue right now, but he does believe that not admitting to the crime is just the same as not speaking up. instead, he sort of frowns at the idea of secrets before listening to the rest.]
You think they'll be able to actually tell us things? Or want to? [...] What if they end up doing this again?
[...he lets his legs swing a little so his heels hit the bottom of the pod, thinking of how he wants to phrase his thoughts.]
...I'm not surprised. I know I said it was possible Sharon was an accomplice, but it still felt a little too clean. At the time, it made the most sense though. Probably because we wanted it to make sense.
Do we know who the second one is? Or why they did this?
There's more but you're bright, Sora. You'd probably figure out who they are and that isn't my information to give. (Sorry. He's actually, very sorry.) They like you, though, and hopefully you can earn their trust.
I'll keep speaking with them and see what I can learn until then. Hopefully, there'll be more to share.
I hope you're right. [he would very much like to know? he would also very much like to not die but that's kind of an irrelevant point right now when the goal itself is to help.] I'll have to see what happens. I can't think of anybody who'd do this without a good reason, but I'll do my best to listen whenever they feel like they can trust me enough.
[there's a nod then.] Thanks for telling me. If we can get even a little more information about where to go from here then we're doing better than last week.
Maybe better's a bit of a stretch, but we're at least starting to learn more. That has to count. [otherwise what even is the point of what they're suffering through?
but hm. even if he barely knows claude in the grand scheme of things, it's the way that it's said and based on what he does know about claude that makes that stand out.]
You...forgot? [claude explain.] What does that mean?
You tell me. Thursday morning I woke up and was bleeding memories right out the ear.
(INHALES,)
At first it was just forgetting what I was making for breakfast or why I'd gone into a room. Then I was forgetting conversations I had with people here. By night time, I couldn't remember how to use my bow anymore and I could barely remember my name.
The next morning, I was fine. At least, I think it was fine. Everyone felt kind of strange, you know?
How is that even possible? [that's a rhetorical question but claude your memories!!] It only lasted for a day, so...what? Did someone else cause this to happen? Or one of the leaders, you think?
All of your memories are back where they're supposed to be now, right? [hi he's worried suddenly.]
I don't know. I spoke to my leader and they didn't have any answers. I plan on following up with them soon. It only lasted that one day, though, I think.
(Friday is ??? because that weird effect but you know how it be,)
I think everything's back. Well, besides the things I forgot before... forgetting.
Weird...and Thursday is pretty suspicious with what happened on Thursday night. [so maybe claude was specifically picked for a reason? they may never know.
but he tilts his head slightly.]
It would've been too easy to get everything back, huh? Do you remember how many things you were missing before everything went missing?
(He has to really think about this. It's not easy to just recall every memory and sort through each one with a fine tooth comb, picking out the discrepancies and holes. There are things that people naturally forget and it's difficult to tell. It doesn't matter if he forgets the exact name of his first governess, is it? She was fussy and boring and always critiquing him for his own sake but was she important? Or what about those miscellaneous details like his first few weeks at his new home? It was all a whirlwind at the time.)
I'm not sure. (There's something. A nagging feeling. Like he's taking a test and can't remember the answer for a question he knows he knows.) I feel the same way now as I did before, though.
(So maybe he's fine. Whatever he lost, it couldn't be that important if he still remembers that thing,)
Don't worry about it. There's someone I can talk to to try and figure things out.
(Someone he's shared memories with.
And changing topics,)
You don't have to tell me who they are, but you've been speaking to your leader, right? They're probably our best sources of information.
[it's about the answer he expected, especially since he himself can't entirely pinpoint what he may have forgotten naturally and what he may have forgotten thanks to this place. but he nods to concede to the point.]
Just wondering. Some people are losing more than one memory a week, so...just making sure.
[but he leaves that to claude to deal with.]
I've been speaking to all of them, actually. But I guess I talk to my leader a little more than the others.
I've spoken to a couple of them as well, though, it's been a while since I've last checked in on some.
(Might be a good time to check on some of his older friends, oops. Anyway,)
I'm under the impression they're just as lost as we are when it comes to a lot of things but they do have a bit of an advantage. (Being connected to the realm and all that jazz) It's a hunch, but the nova disruptions seem to be intentional. It doesn't seem to be natural.
Something, or someone, is disrupting it. Maybe even more than one. It might not necessarily be our killers either.
[he grins.] I just think they could use a few friends, too. They have the hardest job out of all of us.
[befriend npcs: the agenda.]
And they're definitely lost. I've been asking them some things about how the nova and the Realm works, and some things make sense and others they still don't have a real answer. When Swan first came to town this week I asked them about how the Realm communicates. They can hear it in their heads, but I want to ask if there's any other option for talking to it.
Virid did say that when he was asked to kill Hajime it was because he was told there was a bigger enemy out there that we would have to deal with if he didn't. Supposedly his leader asked him to do it, but we're still trying to figure out what that means or why it happened.
Because of what happened with Virid, the Realm cooperated with his leader and that's why we were locked in the first time, and why things happened the way they did. It's completely possible that our leaders have information they aren't sharing with each other which...is also pretty bad.
Not to mention the Realm's busy connecting us to places where the flow of nova was already disturbed. They're just memories, but we don't know how that really influences this place.
Hmm... where I'm from, there's nothing stopping anyone from speaking to the earth. In fact, we speak to it all the time. Though, usually it's to give thanks or ask for some bounty. Nothing has ever spoken to me before but sometimes... I could find answers in the things around me. (In the stars, in the way the world moved, in the way it rewarded those who cared for it. ) If there's a way to talk to communicate with the Realm too, it would be interesting to know.
Hmm... if his leader asked him to do it, it matches up with my source.
(Asked to kill by their leader.)
I didn't know about the leaders working with the Realm to set off the events on Thursday night, though. The leaders seemed surprised by everything but if they knew this was possible... someone's acting. More than just us looking out for each other, maybe our furry friends should be looking at each other too.
Yeah, exactly. Every world I've ever been to has a heart, and even if the world can't speak for itself there's always an answer waiting there. Just because we don't have a way to do it yet doesn't mean there isn't one we haven't found yet.
[but he nods.] Yeah. It's something I heard, and...well. Virid acted like he wasn't responsible for Hajime until the last minute, didn't he? I don't want to suspect any of them right away, but if it's really true then we have a bigger problem.
(Why is that Claude and Sora are talking about two different concepts but they still understand each other I hate this
He taps his chin, thinking. They've discussed a lot of things and they'll definitely need a little bit of time to digest it all,)
I'll speak to my leader this coming week. We're due for a meeting anyway, since I spoke to them about my memory loss. There's another I want to speak to about something as well.
(He has questions that he truly hopes he'll have the answer for,)
This is all of the information I have for now. What about you?
I'm gonna check in with mine, too. And some of the others. I want to see what they think about a couple of things before I say too much. [according to my timelines that's about all he knows right now, except:]
...have you talked to any of the others who were in the other group that disappeared this week? Won, Xie Lian, Ochako or Chiron?
They're both really good people. I'm sure they'll be willing to answer any questions you have about what they saw and what they found. From what I understand they were forced to split up, too, so they know both sides of the story.

(He keeps his tone light, and playful. He even smiles! But the smile doesn't quite reach his eyes, like there's some regret and sadness there,)
For example, I believe they were truly trying to help us at the trial. (When he speaks, it's with no joy,) ... We didn't just miss one killer, Sora.

There's a quiet agreement. No, he doesn't think anyone would do this without a good reason. He believes this.)
Are we? (ARE WE REALLY DOING BETTER?) I heard you had a pretty hard time this week. I meant to talk to you about it.
