[ just kind of doing a twirl and stabbing gesture here ]
A woman walking on her merry way, when lo, a knife did come upon her out the fog! A stab in the back, an unkind cut indeed, and with that one cut was that great tree fell'd!
My neighbour didst have the misfortune of being nearby when the deed occurred, and fled in fear, scattering his just-purchased books upon the road. All who saw assumed his flight to be that of a criminal from the scene of his crime!

[ ok i'm glad you played that case because i'm now spoiling the end of it here lmao ]
I was myself no spectator, but as I would understand it, 'twas a matter of finding the loose threads in the witnesses' webs of words and pulling 'til they did come unravell'd, and rewriting the narrative accordingly.
In the end, lo, 'twas but an unthinkable accident — a knife from an open window above [ now just miming a knife plummeting down from the sky ], and the pitiable woman an utter victim of circumstance! For one born under such an unlucky star, that she doth still breathe seems a miracle!
So someone dropped a knife out the window and a lady almost died, but they blamed your neighbor because he seemed guilty. [just. so he can try to understand that.]
...it's weird. I heard about a few people who disappeared recently. They met with a man named Ryuunosuke who was a defense attorney, and they had to prove his innocent in a case involving squirrels and prove the right facts to some guy named Herlock? I thought it was just something about this place, but they sound like they're real people that people here know about.
A squirrel trainer had been murdered, and I guess Ryuunosuke was accused of being the culprit. A few people from our group here had to help prove his innocent and point out that it was a different squirrel trainer...something like that.

So they had to prove your neighbor didn't do it, right? How did that work? Do you know what they went through at all?
