There's someone really important that I need to find. And I don't know where to start looking. I'm afraid if I don't find them, we won't be able to work to full capacity.

[a beat.] Do you have any idea who might have killed Hikaru?

[sacredchants]

Someone important to find? [ hmm? ] Like another leader?

[ at the mention of hikaru's name, izumo's expression will drop and she'll lower her head. ]

No, I have no clue. If there's anyone who might be interested in that, it would be Claude.

[reconnective]

It's something like that. Not necessarily a leader but...someone who might have something to do with some of the things going on here.

[he frowns softly.] ...I'll ask around. I don't know if Claude would tell me even if I asked.

[sacredchants]

Where did you hear about that? This is the first I've heard of it.

[ sora??? and while sora frowns izumo will get irritated. if only because of the continued mentioning of claude. oops? ]

...if that idiot knows better, he should start telling people things instead of trying to keep doing things all on his own. His actions will start to catch up to him more than it already have.

It's complicated, it's just a hunch I have. I think that whoever's sending messages out to people is the same person who might've killed Hikaru. I only heard of one team's icon flashing this weekend, and there's no way that team killed both people.

[hm...] ...did something happen between you guys?

[sacredchants]

Something like that. It's nothing that will get in the way of what we're trying to accomplish here.

[ and she's gonna sweep that under the rug as fast as she can as she moves to the next topic. ]

If they did kill both people then they'd be among the cleared, but there's only one team who has, right? [ she isn't sure which team but she has a few guesses. still though. ] ...but if they're not then... [ hmm. ] Do you have any leads at all?

Are we looking for someone among us or an outsider?

[reconnective]

If you say so. [farewell claude! but he hums in thought.]

Right. That's how I know it's not one team doing both kills last week. Which means Hikaru's kill didn't count for some reason, or at least it didn't register to the rest of that person's team.

I don't have any leads. There's something really weird about it, and I can't figure out if it's that someone's lying about their team or someone doesn't have one solid team. Especially since there was an odd number of us to start with.

I've been thinking about that odd number for a while as well but with everything that's happened, I haven't been able to focus on it. [ hmm. ] If your hunch is right, then things just got a lot more complicated, you know.

[ ... ]

The monster, the nova, the disturbances, making sure our numbers match up... All of this has to work together somehow, right?

[reconnective]

I know. But that means we're getting closer to an answer, you know? It's always the craziest right before we find the right direction. [hmmmm.]

One layer at a time. Have you ever asked your leader how many people your team started out with?

[sacredchants]

No, I haven't.

From our guesses, though, we started with about seven of us.

[ you know, since there are only four of them left and the like but— ]

I'm guessing this means that you've asked how many were on your team.

[reconnective]

Yeah. I know everyone who's ever been on my team. It's seven, too.

But it doesn't hurt to ask and confirm it yourself. We can't work off of guesses for much longer with this kind of thing.

[sacredchants]

[ she'll shake her head. ]

Fox can't confirm the dead. We can only have guesses at the other two foxes that have been removed.

[reconnective]

You can get hints though, right? That's how it worked for Swan.

[sacredchants]

We can, but I don't think we're too far off on our guesses. All of us are rather similar.

[ pitifully. ]

You think so? [hm.] That is and isn't surprising, actually. So you'd think the dead Foxes are like you guys, too.

[sacredchants]

It would make sense. Why would five of us have similar qualities while the last two are outliers?

[ since sora knows all of the foxes he should have a better idea, yes? or. hmm. ]

Doesn't your team have some sort of similar quality among you all?

[reconnective]

[he...looks at the sky for a second.]

Most of us, sure, but there's definitely an outlier or two. But it's okay.

[sacredchants]

Five out of seven isn't too bad.

[ you okay there? ]

You think? Maybe all of us are similar but it's a lot harder to tell for a few of them. But I like all of my teammates enough so...it's fine.

[sacredchants]

[ hmm. she's kind of jealous. ]

I suppose I get along with my teammates for the most part. At the very least, we can all work together.

[reconnective]

That's the most important part, isn't it? As long as you guys can function as a team you'll be able to make the best decisions for yourselves.

[sacredchants]

That's the ideal, anyway. I definitely know none of us have personalities that are likely to yield to the other.

Izumo, how often do you guys actually talk to each other?

[sacredchants]

Enough.

[ don't judge her and her team. ]

That...doesn't mean a whole lot coming from you. No offense. [izumo could say that twice a week counts as enough, is the thing.]

Maybe more than just enough is needed now.
