I was going to try and ask my leader...see if they know anything more about it now that Virid's been removed. If it was a big enough disturbance that doors could lock on their own and we could be knocked unconscious, the town itself might change, too.

Maybe we need to know what the disturbance was in response to.

If it was in response to Virid killing, how and why did we end up locked in and passed out? And if something else caused the disturbance, then did that... something know what Virid was planning to do?

Those are all good questions. I think what I want to know is how much is the Realm aware of and how much are the leaders aware of. It has to be more than what we know, doesn't it?

Yeah, most likely. I don't know how much more they actually do know, but... they definitely have more general knowledge than we do.

Just from what they've said, and what they're able to tell us. They knew about the disturbance before we did, according to what they said on Friday.

But they still didn't know much about it. Just that it was felt. So maybe they're between us and the Realm just like they said? But why wouldn't the Realm keep them updated on what's happening?

I don't know.

But... um. If you think of them like a mouthpiece for the Realm, then I guess I can understand? If you had a group of strangers suddenly show up on your doorstep, would you tell them everything immediately?

You might want to keep a few things back. Just in case.

Especially if those people have suddenly started killing each other.

Even though the Realm's what brought us here. That was its decision, not ours. [and that's the frustrating part.] So...it could be protecting itself, you think? And the leaders, too.

It could be, yeah. If you think of people randomly showing up in your house, and then one of them kills two people... you'd probably be on edge as well, right?

...when you put it that way, yeah. [poor realm.] It's probably gonna start putting up more barriers and stuff to protect itself.

I guess knocking us out might be one of them. I hope we don’t find out what others could be.

[reconnective]

The only way we'd find out is by going through this thing all over again. Which...I really hope we don't have to either. But if we do. How do we even prepare for something like that?

... I don’t think you can. It just happens, and then you have to deal with the aftermath.

But that isn't fair. [life isn't fair, sora.] If people are going to do something like this again can't we get some kind of warning or something?

[chanteuser]

Death doesn't always come with a warning, Sora.

We... might just need to be alert this week. Keep an eye on people and if they're acting strange, or distressed make sure we talk to them?

I know, but...[it still sucks, alex. but...he sighs.] I know.

Mob and I were talking yesterday. Our priority should still be talking to others and making sure we try to understand them as best as we can. If they feel like they aren't alone, maybe we can stop this from happening again.

[chanteuser]

To prevent anyone from feeling like killing's their only option?

... [ that sounds like something mob might say. he'd seemed like such a sweet kid. ] It's a good idea. We'd all get to know each other a bit more too, and build up a network.

[reconnective]

Yup. [mob's a good boy.] That's exactly how I feel, too. If we know more about each other we'll be able to know what to say and do to help each other. Isn't that the point? Working together to help the Realm and collect the nova.

[chanteuser]

[ mob 👏 is 👏 a 👏 good 👏 boy! 👏 ]

Maybe if we're all getting along and not... killing each other, then we'll gather even more nova? [ maybe?? help. ]

Nova's attracted to us, and I think it's influenced by our emotions. So if they're really positive, that should create more. [he thinks.]

[chanteuser]

Happy group, more Nova, and everyone wins then, is that it?

It'd be nice wouldn't it? So I sure hope so. [it'd be better than the alternative.]

It wouldn't hurt anyone to try. [ in fact everything would probably be much happier and fun. ]

Then...let's make a promise to try. If we have to pick a path, that's the one we should try to stick to.

[ there's a pause, and then she leans forward and holds out her little finger to sora. ]

I'll promise if you will.

[pinky promises do, in fact, mean a lot to him so he's reaching forward with ease to lock his finger with hers.]
