You didn't give up. I don't think you were useless at all. [just to be clear there. he can acknowledge the work she put in to get them out of there even if now they both have new trauma.
to that question though, he nods.]
Sort of. My best friend and I grew up training with practice swords. It was just for fun and we used to spar all the time, but after the Heartless came to destroy our world, I got the Keyblade. I've been using that ever since to help save the worlds that need it.
Oh. It's a weapon, it's kind of the same size as a big sword and it's shaped like a key. It helps me with my magic, too. Not everybody can use one, but they're powerful to fight against the darkness.
And that's how you know how to wield a sword, then. I wouldn't have been able to do anything with it, the only kind of swords I've seen have been much thinner than that.
I know. Don't worry, I've spoken to someone about it. I don't expect to be able to defeat a monster, but hopefully I'll learn enough to keep myself safe.
That's a start, I guess. As long as you can buy yourself enough time to get out of something dangerous that's probably what's most important right now.
If you use it enough, you can pick it up decently? I'm not expecting to be able to teach you how to be fluent but... something like knowing the sign for danger might be helpful if you're far enough away that you couldn't hear someone shout it.
Yes, that was what I was thinking. I can teach you the alphabet and some basic phrases? And if you're picking it up and aren't struggling too much we can go from there?
Oh, but-- most importantly. [ she makes a motion with her hands, crossing her left palm under the right and holding it against her chest, and making a stabbing motion towards herself with her thumb. ] Danger.

[ it's... literally the least she could do. ]

It sort of felt really familiar to me. Same idea, different monster. But I wanted to make sure we both got out of there safe.
[but alex was really brave for doing that anyway and he appreciates it.]
no subject
[ haha they all had fun. ]
... You knew how to use that sword though. Is that part of the junior hero thing?
[ ... correction: ] Or hero in general thing.

[ wow sora you sure said words. ] Okay, um... bear with me here. A Keyblade?

I have never heard of a weapon like that.

Do you know how to fight at all? I know some people are teaching self-defense lessons.
no subject
I can swing a pipe pretty well?
[ she laughs ]

Yeah. I’m not foolish enough to think I could take on half the people here and win.
no subject
You're doing better than some of us then by knowing your limits. That's not a bad thing at all.
no subject
[ honestly.
...
... ]
Hey, Sora. [ convenient topic change ] What did you and Izumo do?
no subject
[...but he looks away then.] ...did you already talk to her? What'd she say?
no subject
[ ... and apparently she's right. ]
Did you want to learn some sign language?
no subject
You know it enough to teach? [it sounds more rude that he means it, but mostly he's curious since alex's hearing seems fine.]
no subject
[ oh. ]
Well... uh, I'm only a beginner. But my roommate is deaf.
no subject
Oh. Then I guess you would know. [he considers that.] Is it easy to learn?
no subject
[ she just. looks so tired. ] Sora...

That would be pretty useful though. Especially if something else happens like what happened this week and we can't talk to each other.
no subject
she's just disappointed. ]
