Yeah. I want to ask some of the other leaders their thoughts on it, too. Mostly because it still doesn't explain why a monster was there at all if it's supposedly just a memory. I guess, in a way, it was a good thing Izumo and I went.
Maybe. If these places really don't have other people but have monsters lurking around it might be part of the problem. And even if it's not the cause it probably doesn't help.
Hardly. Regardless of their reason for being there, there's the matter of dealing with them. I can only speak for myself, but I confess I've lost the one means I have for contending with a monster of any kind.
Hey, it's not for everybody. Our magician usually uses a staff instead. [so this does not surprise him, but also, sorry for comparing alphinaud to donald duck.]
All of my powers are gone, too. [this isn't relevant, really, but he's interested.] What's your magic like?
[ "regular old magic"...... that does not narrow it down in the least. (but it's kh i understand) ]
Mayhap it is not so terribly different from the magicks you know, then; 'tis the manner one channels their aether that makes it different from other schools. It allows me to conjure sorcery to fend off fiends, yet also draw upon healing magicks to aid the injured—and oft do arcanists have familiars at their side to do as they need.
[the words are incredibly different, but there's a light of recognition in his eyes as he seems to grasp the concepts.]
It's really not too different for us. We use our magic when we're fighting off monsters, too. Elemental stuff usually, but we know healing magic and sometimes we can summon friends to help us, too. [he sounds a little excited, actually, because this is the closest he's come to finding someone who understands. wow. wonder why.] A wizard taught us how to use ours, but I don't think I can really explain how we channel it or whatever.
[ damn... it's almost like sora could be a final fantasy character? kinda wild bro. ]
'Tis well and good; such knowledge comes only with many summers of study. Though you may be capable of wielding it now, I do suggest further learning as much as you are able.
Now you're starting to sound like Master Yen Sid. [but it's amicably said, like he doesn't mind.] When Merlin first started teaching us, we practiced a lot. But now it's pretty easy to do. I wouldn't mind learning more if there was more to learn though, I guess.
There is always more learning to pursue, should you wish to. It is merely a matter of finding what you wish to accomplish, and then discovering a way to do so.
Well, I do think myself as having a firm grasp of arcanima, but there are a myriad of ways it can be employed, and plenty of those I've yet to do for myself. Over the years I have created several different types of carbuncles, for instance, or thought of new ways my spells can help in the midst of combat.
You needn't think it on a grand scale—nay, 'tis best to go a little at a time with your ideas.
Um...[you know. for as open as sora usually is, for some reason he seems to be shying away from that topic.] It's a little complicated. But for a while I lost all of my powers and had to start all over again.
It turned out okay, I got everything back eventually. It just took a while and I'm not even really sure I can explain how it all came back. [he scratches the back of his head.] But some things happened during our Mark of Mastery exam that erased them in the first place.

Do you think that whatever beast lurks out there could be the cause of the disturbance?

[ Thanks, Realm fuckery. ]
I am a practitioner of arcanima, but I've yet to come across another here who is familiar with it. Unless you are?

[mmm...] I've used a couple of my powers in ways you're probably not supposed to. So, I guess I could go back and learn the right way to do it.

Huh, I see. That sounds like quite the mishap.
