[to say that today was eventful was...actually probably an understatement. the trip to the moon sounded like a good idea at the time, but now that it's all said and done sora's starting to think they should have thought this through.

it's later in the day on monday and sora's making his way downstairs at the inn with the intention of heading to the kitchen. but, of course, he spots someone he's familiar with on his way and he can't stop himself from speaking up.]

Hey. [they'd spoken earlier in the day so the greeting's more casual than anything as he grins.] Where're you headed?

[arcsplainist]

[ After a long day of exploring new things, Alphinaud is on his way back to his room, but of course along the way he bumps into a likewise familiar face. Yet this time, he pauses quickly, expression lighting up in surprise. ]

—Oh, there you are! I had hoped to see you again soon.

[reconnective]

Oh yeah? [that's a surprise and his own expression probably mirrors alphinaud's.] Were you looking for me?

[he can't exactly imagine why, but he doesn't mind.]

[arcsplainist]

Aye.

[ He looks Sora up and down. ]

Though you... appear to be hale and whole, to which I am full glad for. I had heard you were caught in some trouble earlier.

[sometimes...you are an angry squeenix character angrily taking a walk outside. sora should probably not be walking around right now, but he's slowly making his way around the town just to clear his head. but the town isn't really that big, so it's unsurprising that he finds someone in his path.

it's equally unsurprising that he falls into step with alphinaud rather easily.]

I really thought we were going to do better this time.

[arcsplainist]

[ Sometimes... you are an angry squeenix character angrily taking a walk outside.

Alphinaud had not expected company, but it is not unwanted. ]

I had hoped... But now I realize we are, quite possibly, far too in over our heads.

[reconnective]

I got that impression, too. [he folds his hands behind his head as they walk.] None of us are really sure what to do. I'd hoped we would be okay because of what happened last week, but this was even harder than I thought.

w2, thursday

[reconnective]

[so yesterday absolutely happened. there's a lot that went on last night, and so sora's making some rounds to find other people and check in (still in his pirate gear). that's how he happens to come across alphinaud, wherever that may be, and he greets him with a short wave.]

Hey. Holding up okay?

[arcsplainist]

[ We're in the town! The normal one. I've decided. ]

As well as one can be. [ Yesterday was... yesterday. ] But hale and whole, should you wonder. How fare you?

[reconnective]

Good. And I'm okay! [he's. unfortunately still very excited and alphinaud doesn't even have to be that close to see it. fighting pirates was exhilarating.] I kinda wish we could've saved more of the town but it looks like everything's okay again over there. Who knows how the nova even works anymore...

w2 friday

[reconnective]

[was alphinaud having an okay day? maybe he was just taking a nice stroll around the northern area in the pirate town, but he may want to watch his step because if he doesn't he's likely to trip over a pair of legs sticking out in the center of the path. there's also, like, a body attached to that pair of legs that seems to be kind of awkwardly propped up against the side of a house but hm.

[ Well two people died but yeah it's been okay. Alphinaud is indeed around, looking for faces he knows, when yes, he stumbles upon an unexpected pair of legs.

And very nearly falls!! ]

[reconnective]

[alphy noooooo. i definitely set this up but noooo. alphinaud stumbles and the legs kind of kick out, a whine following as sora sits up from where he's just laying on the ground.]

Heyyy. Watch it. [he says, as if this isn't his fault. give him a second to squint though before he grins suddenly.]

Alphinaud, hey! [he tries to sit up but...give him a second.] Where're you headed?

w3 friday

[reconnective]

[today was great! perfect! nothing is wrong!!!

...but sora's out here still wandering the village and the town both, scouring the area for any clues. it's how he comes across alphinaud as well, and after a moment he waves before approaching.]

How are things?

[arcsplainist]

[ Alphinaud is out doing similarly, in case there's anything more that can be found. Instead, he bumps into a familiar face, not that it's unwanted. ]

—Oh, good day, Sora. I suppose I should have expected to see you out here today.

[reconnective]

You think? [there's a little grin at that.] I always kind of figure that if I can, I should. And even after everybody's already looked it doesn't hurt to look again.

[he is also holding a kigu very closely.]

w3 sunday

[reconnective]

[as he enters the lobby after...all of that, he doesn't get too far before he spots alphinaud and changes direction to go and join him.]

What a morning. [he eyes the tea curiously but settles for a grin.] Doing okay?

[arcsplainist]

[ He's here! Sitting on one of the sofas, cup in hand; upon his shoulder sits a tiny microraptor that nibbles at the earcuff dangling from his left ear. Alphinaud seems resigned to this even as he glances up at Sora. ]

A good afternoon, Sora. [ WHAT a MORNING ] As well as ever, my friend. I thought to sit and enjoy this respite we have been granted.

[reconnective]

[i'm so happy for this dinosaur. but he'll settle...on the ground...instead of the sofa. alright sora.]

It's definitely a nice break, if I'm honest. I didn't think we'd ever get a chance to just relax for a little bit. [even when he says that though, it's clear he's not totally relaxed. there's still another killer out there, but...at least they didn't lose anyone else.]

w5 sunday

[reconnective]

[fresh air is a good idea to abate the nausea, so sora's out walking through the forest with a bird following him, along with the multi-colored bat from the day before. as he continues though, he comes across alphinaud and he lifts a hand in greeting.]

Hey. What're you doing out here?

[arcsplainist]

[ Just vibin'. Alphinaud sits upon a fallen log within the wood, seemingly lost in thought; the carbuncle isn't with him at the moment, but there is a tiny little fox, small enough to fit within the palm of one's hand, scurrying about on the log beside him.

Once he hears Sora, Alphinaud cranes his head over his shoulder. ]

Oh—good afternoon. I thought the air would do me some good, is all.

[reconnective]

[fox friend...but he approaches anyhow.]

Not a bad idea. That's kind of what I thought, too. After everything from earlier...we could all use a breather.

w6 saturday

[reconnective]

[he's crossing the bridge toward the northern area later that evening, hands in his pockets and minding his own business, and he finds himself greeting alphinaud instead on the way.]

Hey. What're you doing out here?

[arcsplainist]

[ Yep, Alphinaud is here. Given his height (or lack thereof), it's easy for him to rest his chin upon his arms folded over the railing; it definitely gives a childlike air about him, though he does lift his head when Sora approaches. ]

Good day, Sora. Naught else but some reflecting, really. Though many pass through here, it is a rather peaceful spot.

[reconnective]

Yeah...it's nice, right? People who usually pass through here don't stay for long anyway. [he doesn't count since he seems to be making himself comfortable against the rail.]

Reflecting on...what happened today?
