[fresh air is a good idea to abate the nausea, so sora's out walking through the forest with a bird following him, along with the multi-colored bat from the day before. as he continues though, he comes across alphinaud and he lifts a hand in greeting.]
[ Just vibin'. Alphinaud sits upon a fallen log within the wood, seemingly lost in thought; the carbuncle isn't with him at the moment, but there is a tiny little fox, small enough to fit within the palm of one's hand, scurrying about on the log beside him.
Once he hears Sora, Alphinaud cranes his head over his shoulder. ]
Oh—good afternoon. I thought the air would do me some good, is all.
[hewwo little baby. sora's going to crouch a little to get a better look at the fox.]
Walking for long distances isn't my favorite right now. [there's a lopsided smile.] I don't know if better is the word I'd use, but I think I'm getting used to it, almost.
I think we were all so focused on trying to understand what happened that it didn't occur to us it could've been a trap. It's like I said yesterday. Well-played on his killer's part, but terrible for the rest of us.
Well... [ Alphinaud looks down at his hand, experimentally flexing it. ] We yet live. If we have not all collectively keeled over by now, we may yet recover in due time.
As you have delivered unto me much information in the past, 'twould be safe to presume you have connections with many, yes?
You need not tell me whom—all too well do I know now how closely guarded secrets are here. But should you know those who remain that have yet to fulfill their number of kills– [ and gods, he hates to say that so casually. ] –I wish for you to give them news I have received just today. And if you don't, well, mayhap you can tell it to someone who does.
A message from mine own Leader. They had told me to speak of this to my fellow participants.
[ So... let's see if this is news to him or not! ]
I would warn them to ware who they target, lest they eliminate all the numbers of any given team. Should that happen, those members will not be revived, in the end.
Makes sense. There are a few teams that have really low numbers. Those are teams we're hoping to avoid, just in case. [the idea of not reviving any of them is just terrible.]
The teams that still have to kill seem to have a good grasp on the numbers. But I'll be sure to let them know for sure.

Not a bad idea. That's kind of what I thought, too. After everything from earlier...we could all use a breather.

Aye. [ a beat ] And walking is...
[ Well, hard, but Alphinaud waves a hand around dismissively. Poison sucks!! ]
Do you feel any better from yesterday?

I suppose that is something. A lesson learned to us all, I say.

It's never been a problem before, so I guess we weren't expecting it. I do kinda feel bad for Zuko though.

I imagine he must feel guilty over it... but I fault him not. I could have just as easily refused, had I bothered to think.

If I must depart this world in some manner or another, I refuse to let this be what does me in.

I do not, no, but here in this world, that is not my decision to make.

[ Meanwhile, having had enough of staring, Miketsuchi hops back down into Alphinaud's lap. ]
I have always been afraid of what might happen to my own self. But, more than that, I am terrified for those closest to me.
no subject
Yeah? [he can understand that. they all have people they care about, but he thinks maybe there's more to it than that.] You mean Izumo?
no subject
... Yes.

Always have I been grateful for your reassuring words, Sora, but they will not be necessary this time.
[ He doesn't mean to be curt, but, it's been A Weekend. Alphinaud quickly moves on. ]
There is something I would like to ask of you, if you are willing.

Let's hear it.

I know the teams that still need to hit the requirement and I'm in contact with both of them. What'd you hear?
