We know it was one of you... There's no point in lying. [ a beat. ] I just want to know why. What happened?

The why is I think “they had to.” To be, uh, fair.

That's exactly what I mean, though. Why were they the one that did it - did Swan tell them to? Swan told me they'd never make me hurt anyone...

...but I can't say I'm surprised her nova started to splinter though.

Because things have to be done this way. You don't understand, do you? You can be upset with how things are done, that's fine, but try not to be upset at the people who did it.

Alright, that's enough. Stop pointing fingers at each other. [ He sounds so tired. ] Swan asked me, to take care of Alyssa, because she was splintering and we agreed that none of you should have to do it. And by that extent, yes - you could have helped. But I didn't plan on making any of you lie for me when our team had no kills, and when I knew the person had a weapon and would be willing to fight with it.

We have enough pressure on us to stay alive for Swan. For each other. If you want to help somehow, next time, fine. But I'll do it again if Swan asks.

What did you think we would do - execute you on the spot? I guess that's how everyone thinks things are supposed to work here?

Really though if I’d known I’d have totally saved my cookies and pretended I didn’t have them again til next week.

We still had Hikaru's killer, to pinpoint. Not that it did much in the end to narrow it down further.

Would you have helped me, Fiora?

[ Plainly, but not cruelly. ]

If there was time, and I had come to all of you and said that I was asked to kill someone, would your morals have allowed that in such a short amount of time? We don't see eye-to-eye, but I'm not cruel enough to make you cover for someone's death, even if it was necessary.

[ she doesn't seem satisfied by this; she knows her response is petty, but it's out before she can think better of it. ]

If there was time, we could have thought of something. There has to have been something.

You think I'm not frustrated, too? We have been at this for weeks and it turns out, yes, we're supposed to be killing people whose nova splinters, but we're also supposed to be condemning those that kill them.

[ SIGH ]

Swan's only condition for me was that I come back, because they don't want to lose anyone else. They asked me on Wednesday. That's not enough time to sit down and talk about what needs to be done.

Now, we have time to prepare. To come to an agreement with each other on what to do.

Well if we don’t know—- If we don’t learn who’s splintering until then, then is it gonna change the amount of time we have to prepare?

[Tugging on his braid.]

Can only really like. Hoard items, I guess.

... The splintering's sort of like an infection, isn't it? You don't cure that by killing someone. Isn't there some way we could find to heal them...?

It isn't, really. [ Do you see why he is SO TIRED. ] But we can at least sit down on Wednesday, when we find out. Formulate alibis and match stories.

I had enough planned that I could have reasonable excuses for almost everything. That it would be harder to point a finger at me, through evidence. But I didn't have anyone to account for certain things, like getting stabbed.
