But where did the entire space station go then...?

Oh, it's probably still there. But the bridge took us to another memory. One of the leaders told me it's like a gateway. So this place will be left behind, too. It doesn't disappear but it's just that we lose access to it.

[chanteuser]

Oh I see... so the things from the memories don't just up and vanish, so they should be able to keep "existing" even when we leave a memory behind.

[reconnective]

I think so. Our stuff didn't disappear from that lab, right? [speaking of.] Do you still have that bracelet?

[chanteuser]

[ she lifts her arm up.

Have you asked your leader what it might be for? My sword's just a sword, but yours looks like it's missing something. [the bracelet has a slot for a jewel and now he wants to know what the heck it was.]

[chanteuser]

[ ty, bold of you to assume i thought of that. ]

There was a picture with the bracelet. I took it with me... it was like a kid's crayon drawing?

[reconnective]

I don't remember a drawing. [but there was so much happening it's not like he thinks much of it.] What'd it look like?

It was of someone wearing the bracelet, and there was a circle around them.

[reconnective]

A circle. Like...[he lifts a hand to draw a circle in the air.] Or something else?

[chanteuser]

It was just drawn like a circle... [ she makes the circle motion ] But it was drawn around the figure in the picture, specifically.

[reconnective]

...what if it used to be, like, a shield or something? We have bracelets like that where I'm from that help us in battle. They don't make real shields or anything but they help us be a little stronger.

[chanteuser]

Aren't shields more of a... [ she holds her arm in front of her, like she's got a literal shield on it ] sort of thing?

[reconnective]

Shields don't always have to be solid. Maybe it's magic?

[chanteuser]

[ her face suggests she knows nothing of magic ]

Magic can do that?

[reconnective]

Yup. I used to know a couple of spells that could create barriers to block stuff that was thrown at me. Magic can do all sorts of stuff.

[into the tailor's they go! i hope alex is just vibin' with sora's constant state of happiness while talking about stuff like this.]

[ she's messing with the bracelet on her wrist while he's talking, staring at it. ]

I wonder how it works, if that's the case. Do I need to know a code word, or something...?

[ the happiness is a nice feeling, sora can stay. ]

No idea. The Leaders would probably have a better idea of what we can do with it.

[chanteuser]

I should probably mention it to them. I worry about overloading them with questions though, they've obviously got a lot on their plate too.

[reconnective]

I always do, too, but I think they don't mind if we ask. A lot of them keep saying that's what their job's for anyway.

[chanteuser]

I know... still. If they’re having a break you kinda want them to get as much rest in as possible, huh? Rather than running around after us even then.

But that’s not really an attitude that’s going to get us out of here.

[reconnective]

Nope. We have to stop being afraid to ask questions, and they have to stop being afraid to ask things from us, too. As far as I'm concerned we're all on a team together.

[chanteuser]

I like that way of looking at it.

[reconnective]

[there's a nod! and he begins to browse the outfits.]

I wish more people felt the same.

[ she is looking at the hats! yaaay hats. ]

Are there people who don't like the leaders? ... I mean, they all have different personalities and you can't get on with everyone. But it's been pretty well established they're as stuck here as we are, hasn't it?
