The more I think about it, the more I really wonder if there's someone else who has a job that requires them to kill an innocent person each week. Like a sacrifice.

Sumire was splintering and Shiro was self-defense. We know Laine was splintering, but we never found out what was up with Raven did we?

The alternative is that we have a bunch of people running around trying to harm each other just because. Which answer's better?

It's not about what's better, it's about what's actually happening. Not everyone here is as good as you are.

.... I'm not saying its impossible, but you must have some other reason for believing it.

I never said that they were, or that I am. [he is good and he won't deny it, but he's not going to go around spouting how righteous he is compared to others.]

...somebody came to me earlier this week and told me they heard from somebody else that there're special jobs involved in this game. Probably six of them. So that's my guess.

.... Well, I know about the jobs. Uh. That might have been me that said that? But I'm not actually sure how many there are, or what they all do. Six just seemed like the safest bet.

Supposedly there are several that're confirmed to exist. [...] Have you ever heard of a game called chess?

It's kind of a boring game, but it's a strategy game. In it, there are six main pieces: a pawn, a rook, a knight, a bishop, a queen and a king.

See where this is going?

... Kind of. I guess the king and queen are really important?

All of the pieces are important in different ways, but as far as I understand if you take your opponent's king, the game's over.
